About Helios

Marketing that earns its keep.

Helios is an American, remote-first marketing company. We help businesses grow through organic content that ranks, gets cited by AI search, and turns into sales-ready leads, and we handle whatever else it takes to turn that traffic into revenue.

Why we exist

Small businesses deserve big-brand marketing.

Small and mid-sized businesses deserve the same marketing horsepower as the big brands, without the bloat, the jargon, or the runaway costs. Most of them are told the answer is ads. We think the answer is content people are actually searching for, published consistently, measured honestly. It costs less, it compounds, and it's yours to keep.

Letter from the founder

How Helios started.

The first time I understood what businesses actually want from marketing, I was standing at the front of a college classroom.

Our professor had invited local owners to bring in a real problem, and each student team pitched a solution. Most teams presented strategy: frameworks, funnels, positioning statements. I presented the work itself, the ads, taglines, and graphics they could run tomorrow. Halfway through, the owners took out their phones and started photographing my slides, and when the other teams presented, the phones stayed in their pockets.

In the months prior, I had just been turned down for four or five internships, all general business roles that had little to do with strategy or writing. But in that moment, sitting in that classroom listening to my peers finish their presentations, something told me I knew exactly what those owners wanted, because they had shown me, and it was the work I was best at. So after class I pitched them: I will build the plan, make the assets, and deliver the results. Five conversations later, I had five clients.

Then, over the next few months, I found out what that costs. I was twenty, in school full time, running five accounts and running a business for the first time. The grades held and the clients were happy, but I was burning out, and though it was my dream to run a successful business, I had no idea how a real company was supposed to run. When I said as much to the CEO of another company I was pitching, he made me an offer I did not expect: set the business down for now, come work directly for me, and learn how a company actually runs and what it actually needs from marketing.

I spent three years at his side. I built the marketing department from nothing, wrote the company's messaging and its sales decks, and turned a strategy I had drafted into a national campaign that helped raise the company's next round of funding. And I learned something invaluable, something that would shape how Helios works today. I learned that different companies are run by different people who care about different things, but they all love the same kind of partner: one who produces the results and asks almost nothing of them to get there. No hand-holding, no meetings about meetings, no friction. The closest thing to a copy of themselves, making the right calls and bringing back the outcome they want without having to wonder what I am up to. He once told me:

"A good business solves its clients' problems; a great one makes them feel as if they have no problems at all."

When I had learned everything I could there, the CEO and now mentor pointed me toward a bigger, more ambitious project at another company, where I would go on to build a second marketing department from the ground up and develop a new go-to-market strategy that gave them, for the first time in the thirty years since their founding, a direct channel to their end customers. Along the way, something interesting was unfolding in the background. Every now and then, former colleagues would reach out for help with their own marketing projects at the new companies they had joined, from websites and social media to sales collateral and messaging. And then all of a sudden I realized: the business I had set down years ago never really stopped, and the dream of running it full time, long forgotten in the blur of working for others, had returned.

Less than a year later, with that project now delivered, I told the company I was leaving to run Helios full time. They tried to keep me, but when they saw that I was set on my mission, they asked to become a client instead, to support Helios and help it grow. Nearly three years later they are one of my flagship clients, the results in our case study are theirs, and I am immensely grateful for their part in getting me here.

Fast forward to today and Helios is built on what all those years had taught me. Answer what your customers are already asking, do it consistently, and make it effortless for the people you work for. Now I am looking to repeat that success and build the same kind of partnership with more businesses like yours.

What we believe

Six things we won't compromise on.

Substance over hype.

No vanity metrics. If it doesn't move traffic, leads, or revenue, we don't celebrate it.

Compounding over campaigns.

Content is an asset. Publish it, earn from it, reinvest the gains.

Clarity wins.

Plain language, strong structure, and useful answers beat clever every time.

Ownership.

We work like your in-house team: proactive, accountable, invested in the outcome.

Experts first, AI second.

Real content marketing specialists, using AI to work faster and cost less, never to replace the thinking. That's the way AI should be used.

Measure what matters.

Impressions, clicks, rankings, and conversions, tied to your pipeline and reported every month.
